Tests and Results
How and when to obtain test results from the surgery
Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- using our online triage tool
- via the NHS app
- in your online services account
Questions about your results
Get in touch with the surgery if you want to talk to someone about your results.
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
Private Blood Tests
The practice will not undertake blood tests for investigations and monitoring of treatment at private clinics. If you need blood tests for your treatment at a private clinic, it will have to be arranged and followed up by them regardless of the cost, and this cost should be factored in prior to seeing the private clinic.
Any requests will be declined as this is unfunded and non-contractual NHS work. The GP practice doesn't have time to arrange or follow up these blood test requests due to the increasing workload. The GP practice may undertake blood test for monitoring of medication as part of a NHS shared care agreement only, which carries the required funding for the work.
Blood test request at the practice will only by arranged by GP's if there is a clinical need.
